Just so I could keep good, old school kharma going with my '85 K20 Suburban, I found what is probably a mid 70's SM465 4 speed shift knob. Had a '65 Suburban and '65 C20 at one time and I like the feel/shape of the older knobs better. So I installed it yesterday. Much bettah
I know what you mean.

Recently found a NOS gearshift knob for my 1956 Case VAH/VAC tractor. It's a small thing - but a neat thing.

The old one was JB welded together from three pieces!

Yep, there was nothing broken with the OEM knob, I just like the feel of the older knobs better. I learned to drive in my Grampa's 51 GMC pickup, same kind of knob, call it hand nostalgia

couldn't really find anyone local to cut these keys for me believe it or not. lowes, rural king, ace hardware all screwed me. how do you plan on getting them done?


Well, Wally World won't cut them - "Cant replace them if they get messed up".

I can see it, and thanks to you had knowledge of the possibility, so I will keep hunting.

Did get some Wally spares, though- needed them.

Did get some Wally spares, though- needed them.

the best i managed was at Lowes: they used their key, not mine, and were able to cut my door key. So i now have 2 of each, that'll do for now, although i wish they were the GM keys...

Did away with with the electric fuel pump and went back to a standard mechanical pump. Made up a new steel fuel line from the pump to the carburetor.

Why did you decide to remove your electrical fuel pump? Just curious, as I recently bought an electric one and haven't installed it yet LOL

Clearance issues with the R/H pump in the chassis rail, I needed a bigger pump and the R/H exhaust pipe was too close for my liking.

finally warm enough to spend some time in the garage this past weekend and work on the paint and clear on the passengers side of the truck. It looks 10 times better than it did. And even though I had a couple days time in this, the goal wasn't to make it show, just to make it show better than it was where the clear and some of the paint had been burned off of it by the sun. This will keep me content with it now until I tear it down and completely re-do the truck next winter. This side always bugged me, not so much anymore. some final sanding and buffing and it will be good to go for the summer.

Pretty much just looked at mine. Put the ac vent on the new bezel from LMC. Their bezel looks great. Waiting now on column parts to show up, and this week I'll pull the grill and paint it closer to factory color. Sockets showed up too but I've got to pull the gas tank and sort the wiring for the rear.

Spent a warm day with the door up and cleaned and organized. Rolled chassis out found sockets and nuts....now I can find tools and parts to get something done.

Layed on the couch like a lazy bastard and didn't work on ****. Camaro needs an oil change. So guess I'll do it after work today. Been cloudy the last 2 days. Not very motivated to do anything outside.

Today I tried changing a front tire on my '78, since another one decided to separate today. I couldn't even get the damn wheel off, it's really froze to the hub. Went so far as to back all the lugs off a couple turns and drive the truck as hard as I reasonably could. Put about 5 miles on it like that trying to get it unstuck. Even hit some really rough RR tracks at 35mph. No dice. Still stuck on the truck.

I blame the damn road salt.
