Have never Clay barred a windshield, but wax em - sure !

Usually I just wipe em down real good with the buffing tag I used for the wax - poor man's rainX.

:D
The clay bar gets everything off of it. Water spots, sap stains, all kinds of old things that have built up on there, and leaves you with a crystal clear view.

Edit: Putting a coat of wax on it gives months of nothing sticking to it. How many months depends on which wax you use.

Interesting - tell me more ! I have heard of lots of people using diesel oil in gasoline engines like ours, and figured I would try it. The PO apparently used Havoline ( done at Texaco, so assuming ) 15W40.

If I need to drain it, then I guess I dump some seafoam in and go back to Wally :banana-mario:World !!

i dont think i would worry about draining it. Unless it makes you feel better. Our trucks came with SE oil in them and oil has changed alot in 40 years. SN oil is missing the zinc that kept our cams from flattening. Diesel oil is suppose to has at least some zinc in it. Many diesel oils are fleet or dual rated auto / diesel . However it will not be rated SN if it has zinc. Even the worst diesel oil is probably better than the old SE auto oil that was OEM. Unfortunately there is no perfect oil rite now

I use Shaeffer Supreme 7000 10W30 Synthetic High Zinc oil. Keeps my cam healthy.

Good to know. Would be nice if the big oil companies would do the same . it would be nice to go to your local auto parts store and get Vintage motor oil.

Fixed my heater. AC cab originally, but swapped in a regular heater box, both inner and outer. Could hear the fan running, but virtually no airflow. Finally determined that when I made my blockoff plate for the ac hole, I needed to cut a new hole in the firewall so the new box could breathe. Actually works now.

Any pictures, mines about the same as how you described it, the PO did the removal of the ac and hack of a patch also

Just read an article on my phone about new oils.

In an effort to reduce oil drag on 2020 and up vehicles, the bearing clearances are much tighter and new oils like 0W-16 are to be used. They cannot and should be used for 2019 vehicles and below.

It seams that oils are becoming year dependent. Gone are the days of it's just oil.

And the thinner they make it, the more oil consumption problems they create

I mainly want it for the Grandpa truck look lol. I'm going to check it out, it looks a little goofy on there, my bed should be the same dimensions as the earlier one there.

The fleetsides are a little different. The older trucks had a tad wider bed. It may be the same size for the step side, but you may want to take a tape measure to be sure. When I got my camper shell it was only for the '81. But we typically take Crusty Biscuit on long trips, and since the dogs go too, the shell goes on Crusty. It fits, but not as well as it does on the '81.

Steps are the same inner back to 55, but it looks like the top is a tad wider than the bed it's on, and a tad longer as well.

That makes it easier. It's on there, so it'll fit yours. It looks like a good shell, it's your money and I want to spend it for you on that shell...lol...

Coincidentally, I was kicking around the idea of picking this one up today. It’s being sold through a business and he’s only available til 4pm so I’m not sure I could make it in time.

He’s asking 700. It’s an aluminum caravan camper with solar panel, solar controller and inverter. Unfortunately, the roll out shade is not included. I’d have to pull my rack and box to get it home.
