Took a bunch of parts off the truck.

Thinking about changing directions. I was going to change the cam, put the 049 heads on it, and button it up. Now I'm thinking since I have it down this far, I might as well pull the engine and change the rear main seal and oil pan gasket. Gives me easy access to the motor mounts, so they can get changed out too.

So I dislodge the red plastic handle and the ******* garage door slams shut.
I thought for sure it was gonna break the windows out.
That was really the only stupid thing I did tonight.
Except I knocked a bottle of PB blaster off my bed and broke the nozzle off.
Couldn't find my other can, but I found a vintage can of wd40. It's the original scent that drives women nuts, so that's really sort-of a win.

Well, I got both new tanks in, senders/pumps, new straps, and a new selector valve.
And everything works!
Hallelujah!
I've never even had a frickin gas gauge that worked at all, so it's pretty cool to see the gauge work on TWO different tanks.
And when I hit the switch to change tanks and it sputtered, then ran? That was pretty sweet.
I know it's not a huge thing, but a big win on getting this truck back where I want it and back on the road. [emoji106]

Dude, you just did what took me almost a year of eff’ing around between a crappy “pro install” (wiring birds nest) and redoing it myself(with aLOT of help from you guys). Congrats, knowing how much gas is in the tanks AND being able to use both is highly underrated!

That's a lot of work for a little Craftsman. Quite impressive, sir! My old Cub Cadet 147 can cut grass that's as tall as the hood without too much trouble, if I overlap a good bit. My JD 325 will do it, but you can tell that it doesn't like it.

Considering the most you should cut grass is 1/3rd of total length off of the top. That mower is getting a serious workout and/or beating.

I like the added anti-hood folding braces btw.

Headliner material ordered and has shipped. Says it'll arrive Monday. Could be here as early as Saturday. I'll make this my main project in June. I just want a complete Saturday to devote to it in case the whole process (window out, headliner out, new material on, headliner in, window in) takes longer than I think it will. Should be able to complete it in 4 hours so most likely will be complete in 16 hours. LOL

I did too. I had a 127 and a 147 and a buddy talked me out of them. I didn't really miss the 127 because it always quit on me, but I really missed the 147. Recently got them both back though!

A 982 Super? Isn't that the one with the longer wheelbase, 3 point hitch, hydro remotes and stuff?

I have a Cub Cadet 125 and 100. The PO threw in the 100 when I bought the 125. The 100 needs a steering box (must have got water in it and froze). Damm tough little machines. I would really like to restore them, but have too many other projects right now.
