Getting off at 330 gave me a chance to go get it inspected. No parking brake work. Still passed, didnt even check it. So I'll go get plates and registration after work tomorrow. Then I'm legal to drive it. Had it a little over 2 years now.

Happy day. :banana-mario:

:cheers:Awesome, time to Rev on the Red Line!!!

Wish I could like this more than once. Mine sat for a long time and in part because of this site I put some effort into it and it really feels good to be driving it again.

Pulled the 350 out of my dads 89 jimmy that was taking in coolant. Got a reman’d 350 for it. This weekend I’m swapping everything over to new motor along with new water pump, starter, balancer motor mounts etc etc. Dad wants headers so we’ve got a set of headman headers for it.

Great job ! My 305 was in horrible shape . I wanted to do a crate motor for it but unfortunately the 305 quit much sooner than I had hoped so I too did a remann'd lonblock and I'm quite happy with the results . got a nice warranty with it. And it runs great

Where do you get your long block from? We got ours through Jegs. Warranty and all. It was rebuilt in Mexico so I’m a little nervous but hoping for the best. Nervous about breaking in the flat tapper cam because of so many problems people seem to have on the interwebs. Though, I’ve had success in the past so should be good.

Got mine from autozone . also built in Mexico so could be same company lol. When breaking in use a zinc additive like lucas . that's what I did. mixed with the oil and haven't had any issues its about to hit its normal oil change interval . and runs great . they should have given you some instructions with the long block . you follow those and you should be fine . The two center pipes on the headers were too close together to wrap individually so they had to be wrapped that way . I want different headers anyway but these were on the old motor so I cleaned them up wrapped them the only i could and put em on

Call this the what have I done and plan to do this weekend post. First what have I done. #1. Detailed out the interior I do this pretty regularly but it's an excuse to post interior pics. #2. Thanks to @Jethro224 I now have a full set of hub caps. I'm good with wear on a 35 year old work truck, but I like it to look as best it can. Missing trim and hub caps kind of bother me. I still need to order the trim from LMC, I'm just not ecstatic about the near $100 price tag. Back to the hub caps. They look awesome. I really think it's a good step in the right direction looks wise. I do need to decide if I want to add chrome trim rings as well.

So this weekends projects will be trying to get the glue off the bed in front of the tires from what once must have been rock guards or something. You might notice the spare tire and the tool box strapped into the bed. I wanted to see if I liked having the tool box and if I minded the spare in the bed like that. So I'm good with all of that, but I need them to both come out easily. Take last weekend, I hauled 40 bails of hay, and needed every square inch of bed, so both came out. I think I have devised a method with turnbuckles to hold the tool box in place and be able to remove it in just a few minutes. The spare I haven't decided yet, I may end up fabing a bracket, but I hate the idea of the bracket still being in the bed even with the tire removed, so I guess we'll have to see what happens when I get into that. And a wash & quick wax is in order this weekend I think.

Below are the interior pics, from after the detailing, yea I know it's mostly just the dash, but love the way it shines up. That and my tach install, I've been wanting one of the LMC fuel / tach conversion kits, but I just couldn't justify the cost when the aftermarket unit will work well enough.

Almost 2.5 years. I'll be driving it around this weekend. Then probably drive it to work Mon if it don't give me no problems this weekend.

New halogen conversions for ol brown. They've already toured all over Virginia getting here for some reason. I blame it on @Big Chip getting them for his round eye and pushing me over the edge. ;) For a square eye it was no different than changing a bulb, no harness or other parts needed.

Perfect for the one time every two years I drive her at night. It will be nice having better light and not having to replace them every year for inspection(hopefully). There was always one out for some reason even though they were rarely used.o_O
