Block is ok and so far the front pulley, oil pan and my new summit fuel pump is shot.
the tranny got the worst of it.
I guess the worst is my pride because I am 53 and drag raced since I was 18 and swapped many motors and never had this happen.

At least it didn't land on your leg or something.

Plugs and wires (the old wires were so old they just broke off from the plugs.)
Distributor cap and rotor.
Cleaned up and repainted my instrument panel cover.
Cleaned all the junk and trash out of the cab and bed (truck sat for years and then was used as a mud truck/garbage can).
Tried to (still trying to) get my brake lights to work.

Fought with the power steering pump. Welded the nut back on. Discovered I still suck at welding. Found out after all that the hoses are incorrect for my truck.

Got my clutch master cylinder replaced today. While I had the gauge cluster out I tried to diagnose the issue with the oil pressure gauge, but no dice. Stays stuck in the 5oclock position. Need to look for a new cluster or a set of after market gauges.

Watchin it leak LOTS of power steering fluid.

Looks like me and you are in the same boat.

Mine leaks out so fast I just pour ATF in it.

I go thru about 1 gallon per month.

One day I will fix it, I don't know if the resivour is cracked or if a line is leaking all I know when it starts wining, the power steering pump wants its ATF.

I made a spare tire carrier for the bed of my truck. The mounting points align with the bed supports so there works be no movement from the weight of the wheel. Used Grade 8, 1/2" bolts, nuts and lock washers to mount carrier to floor and 1/2 "x20 bolts for mounting the wheel to the carrier.

I'm going to redo the bed liner (done by PO) and will coat the carrier as well.

Got her started up and running for a while tonight. She does NOT like the cold :roflbow: may take her to work in the morning just to stretch her legs a little bit. I'm sure my neighbors are now pissed at me. I guess it's a good thing it was only 7:30

Fuel gauge now works.. I think. Vac tested the motor runs a solid 17hg with a slight flutter.

Tried to hookup my vacuum line for the transmission but horribly failed.

Oh and yanked the 40 year old tape deck!

Looks pretty clean!

Mind throwing up a photo of the carrier without the tire on there?

Just got my new motor back from the machine shop and went by and picked my tranny up and got home bolted it together and had it on the hoist lifting it up to get it over the core support and Bam. one of the bolts broke that held the chain to the back of the head and the motor and tranny hit the ground busting the rear of the tranny, oil pan and the fuel pump. What a DAY

Aww ****!!! :console:

Aww ****!!! :console:

Got the motor and tranny back yesterday, my trans guy did me rite and just charged me for the housing and swapped my guts out for free and wrote fragile do not drop on the housing.
We all had a good laugh on me and thats ok, My motor guy found me a oil pan and checked the crank and the oil pump pick up and just charged me a little labor, Gods looking out for me this week.
My motor guy figured out probably what happened, I used some of my old exhaust bolts on the chain to hang the motor and we talked about them being 30 years old and them getting hot and cold everyday and they were probably soft.
Got the motor in and bolted up today(so happy to get that cherry picker off of it and sitting in the truck) rained out tomorrow with 3-6 inches of snow coming in behind it so it looks like this weekend it might be dry enough to get up under it and get this motor project on it's way:)
starter, distributor, plugs and wires, carburetor, hanging pumps and alternator, cooling system and wiring. dreaming about what the comp roller going to sound like, Sweet dreams:)
