$1700, running but needed some serious help. I drove it 1200 miles home, so there's that.

Not sure if there is any interest in this topic or not as it may be a bit personal for some, but since I didn't see a similar post I thought others may be interested in it as well. There are a few threads on how much people are selling a c10 for, but theres a big difference between how much someone is selling a truck for and how much a truck actually sells for, which is why this thread would have to only be about what you or a friend actually paid for the truck. I'd like to think that sharing this info won't hurt the value of your truck if you ever dare to part with it, but the information could be very valuable to folks that are in the market for a squarebody, or even the folks that are selling a squarebody, it would be helpful to know a number not to sell the truck under.

Obviously there are huge variables that go into a trucks price; region, running or not, motor and transmission, aftermarket parts, interior condition, and the condition of the body panels/paint to name a few. If you are comfortable with posting what you or a friend paid for a square, please list the region and condition of the truck too. Picture are beneficial if possible, as well as when (what year) you bought the truck as values have changed drastically as these trucks age.

These trucks used to be a dime a dozen but have seemingly gotten harder to find in decent condition for a good price, so what screaming deal have you found???
I am on my 5th squarebody, all Suburbans, My current one is a GMC Sierra Classic v2500. I paid $2,600 for it about 4 years ago while I was living in Oregon. This is a total rust free truck and before I moved out here to Indiana, bet that I had some serious undercoating put on. :) Here is a pic of the floors while I was restoring the interior. Hard pressed to find a good rust free truck these days for that price.

Traded a 86 Camaro(350sbc t5 borg manual trans and restored in 2006 garage kept til 2022) that i paid 7k for a 1983 c30 dually 454 with sm465 4spd with granny low manual trans. was running but with a dial back on their over clocked distributor and it ran(still ended up a diff carb as their "starving" one was more less flooding to hell). so other then 2 smaller spots on floor boards and the typical rocker rust, she's overall in decent shape. but considering its going to be a 12v swap soon it was worth it. This is north east Fl.

She has been swapped over to a SWB frame that I had. Sold the 3/4 ton frame for $500 and the rear bumper for $100, so I have $900 in the truck.

Howdy all!

First time to the square club. Growing up my dad had a red 87 single cab 1/2 ton!

I just acquired a one owner Texas truck (garage kept!) 2wd 85 C20 suburban 454 truck. It’s a time capsule! 96k miles.

$8500

20” Detroit steels headed my way. Also thinking about a 2/4 drop but I don’t want to compromise towing for a travel trailer.
