Anyone used compressed air to clean these bottom to top?

Yep. Worked like a charm but I still had to crawl underneath to confirm nothing was trapped.

been a minute since I've done it, but if you fed something down from the cowl and it came out there, that's gotta be it. I just remember not being able to fit my hands in there very well and using a stick. I kept flushing water from the cowl to push stuff down and using the stick to help pull stuff down and out. and then flushing again, and repeating.

Ya I was able to run a piece of taped wire (so I could see it) from the top down and also from the bottom up. Carpet backing is toast, so next step is I might as well do the front carpet. Thanks for the help.

Thank you everyone for this useful information exactly what I needed for my new to me 85.
Both passenger and driver floors wet and some rust. Now I know what to do.
May I ask what the best seam seal product you all suggest?

My 82 had that problem due to poorly applied seam sealer under the cowling. Over the years, the leaks rusted and ruined the fuse panel.

I like SEM seam sealer. The nozzle screws on. One is included with the sealer, and you can buy a bag of new ones for cheap at Amazon.
