Water on drivers floor

Well I knew I had a leak, the burb had been sitting long enuff. Removed the carpet from the driver's floor, mass backing soaked.

Removed cowl, cleaned up around it, obviously going to reseal joint to help the situation.

Ran the hose and saw there was a small leak in this area, but obviously there is more, judging by the rust.

So after sealing the joint, what should I look for next. Read as many postings about this as possible but more of a visual learner than anything, so pics help.

Clean the cowl drains out behind the front fenders. Run some water and see where it comes out. You may have to remove a small plastic panel and move some foam out of the way. But clean, flush, clean, flush until you don't have any more debris coming out.

Looks like you're doing some darn good troubleshooting!
Clean as much of the rust off as you can and spray it with Rust Encapsulator, then paint it before you put your mat and carpet (hopefully dry by now) back.

Yip removed these plastic panels, seems pretty good so far.

I had to remove a piece of foam and use a stick to keep pulling stuff down, then flush with water, and repeat until no more came down when I have cleaned mine.

Have fun lenght running boards, so probably that's a d8fference, water seems to be flowing well.

It's been a bit since I have done mine, but I thought the actual drain exit was tucked back farther where this arrow is pointing.

What years was foam installed? What about the plastic? In the 80s?

window seal is easy to check on a dry day. run water over it for a few minutes, then get under the dash and look for water. May want to block off the cowl so it doesn't interfere with the window seal test.

not sure. mine is a 1990 suburban

Ok, there's doesn't seem to be a leakage this stage, but if I overwhelm it, these two screw holes for the kick panel weep a little. It's barely noticeable but there, thoughts would this be just water that ingressing thru the open holes as it makes it way out.

I still think the drains are clogged
at least partially. stuff gets in there and bridges across the gap and water seeps in when it pools up. it is a dirty job to clean/flush/clean/flush until nothing else can be pulled out with a stick. but after I cleaned mine, I couldn't overwhelm it with a 3/4 garden hose running full bore.

been a minute since I've done it, but if you fed something down from the cowl and it came out there, that's gotta be it. I just remember not being able to fit my hands in there very well and using a stick. I kept flushing water from the cowl to push stuff down and using the stick to help pull stuff down and out. and then flushing again, and repeating.
