X2. If it makes you feel any better, my truck is made from over six trucks.

The frame is a 78, the cab is an 87, the bed is a 79+, the fenders and rad support are off an 80, and the trucks VIN is for a 73 C20.

Lol-yep-I've got an 86 power cab on a 76-80 SB 4x4 frame with 1990-91 Burban interior. It's factory looking tho so only hardcore truck guys will even notice it all.....and that was the point of the build-make it look like GM built it that way.

Does anyone definitively know where to look on the frame for a VIN? I know I have a Frankenstein truck that’s purported to be a 76 K10 SB. Motor and cab numbers don’t add up. Frame would be fine arbitor.

Most people on this forum that have 1/2 and 3/4 tons state the VIN is on the top of the right frame rail under the cab. I have a K30 and it happens to be on the top right frame rail but is under the bed between the fuel tank braces. Seeing you're in PA it may not be easy to find. I'm lucky mine is a California truck that's been off the road since 1998. I would clean the frame in those areas, then try sticking a mirror up there and see what you find.
