Vapor lock????

Ok my truck has been vapor locking I think. I got under the truck and felt the fuel line and it was real hot in two spots. How can I fix it??

you could get some pipe insulation and wrap the fuel lines to the carb to keep the heat off it

what ido for my demo derby car motor i use something simaliar to what a hot water tank pipe uses or you can take a rubber hose and cut one side of it and slip it over the fuel line and zip tie it together might work for ya

First you need to see what temp you are running at overall, and in the area where your fuel line is running...you may have another problem, and the vapor lock is just a condition that is signaling you of said problem.
We need more info on your truck too. Engine, trans carb, any mods to the engine.

It's a 350 with edelbrock intake with a q-jet carb. Hooker headers dual exhaust. Fuel pump doesn't have a fuel return line. The fuel line runs on the inside the frame. And the fuel line gets real hott in two spots it looks burnt in this two spots. And it only vapor locks when it's hott out in the 100s.

Oh and the temp never goes over the second line on the gauge it never reaches the middle line so it's not overheating

Likely the headers are putting off enough heat to heat that steel line. Try the insulation wildcat suggested. Also, seems to me be a common issue with Eddy intake and Qjet combo. My bro has the same problem on his El Co, and he don't have headers. What can be happening, is the well plugs are dripping fuel into the throat of the intake after you shut the motor off, with the hot intake, the drips of fuel are vapoizing and causing the problem. The leaking well plugs are a common problem with Qjets.

So then it's probably that hot line getting heated by the header then. Or, you could have a weak fuel pump, or your timing is a tad to far advanced.

I just put a new fuel pump on and still vabor locking. Do you think aluminum foil wrapped around the steel fuel line would do the job of reflecting the heat?

Nope. I'd try Daving the timing about 2 degrees and see what happens. Do you have a light or way of checking the timing?
