Hopefully I'm not beating a long-dead horse, but I have a couple of questions relating to converting an 83 2WD cab with AT column shift to 4WD with AT column shift.

1. Are all removable transmission tunnel covers the same? Or are there differences between 73-80 and 81-83.

2. Which would be easier to do: Use a bolt in trans cover in the 83 cab or use a hump cut out of an 87 4WD cab? I have an 87 cab with a good floor, but I see the bolt on covers for sale on FB marketplace etc.

I did some searching of past posts and saw that there are cab floor differences 84 and up, just wondering if that would affect using the 87 floor easily in the 83 2WD cab. Thanks for the help!

I don't know about the different years, but I've put a mid 80's C10 cab on a mid 80's K30 chassis. Both were column shifted automatics. I just needed to cut the tunnel for the transfer case shifter.
