r12 fittings arent the same either, so youd have to do a lot of modifications just to use something thats older than me by a lot, when new gauges are different. make sure to get quality adapter fittings (brass) i had cheapo ones leakThanks. I did find the Ester oil recommendation when searching this site and will be using that. I'm resealing the A6 compressor and will be using Ester oil when lubricating things during reassembly.
I've thought about getting an AC machine to avoid issues with Ester oil and PAG oil if I take the truck somewhere. Also have a couple of other older vehicles that will be getting AC so would have future use for a machine. Can an R-12 machine get easily converted to R134a?
