He's one of the most helpful people on this forum.
Thanks, @Bloodhound1981 - I try to be as helpful as I can when on the forums.

Thanks, Rick...Figured it was a one-off but if this how this guy acts towards other members all the time, he needs gone.

I never thought having a Youtube channel made someone pretentious but I learn something new every day, haha!

Nick is a valuable asset to the transmission category of this forum. Lose the attitude and pay attention, you might learn something.

I agree, if the transmission is out on the bench, I wouldn’t pay a dime for a shift kit in a 400. You can do the exact same thing (only better) during an overhaul. And if you’re making big power, the sandwich design transfer plate isn’t the best setup with big power. The tiny channel in the spacer plate can only move so much fluid.

The ONLY parts I’d consider using from a TransGo shift kit during an overhaul is the intermediate clutch snap ring, the pressure regulator spring, and maybe the spring in the low/reverse servo.

Well the transmission seems to shift well and run
Unless you're deleting the 2-3 accumulator circuit, you'll need the sealing ring on that piston...Otherwise, you'll have a massive leak in the high gear apply circuit and direct clutch will burn. One should have come in the overhaul kit; they usually come packaged as part of a dedicated sealing ring kit which is included in the broader kit...Cobra Transmission Parts sells them individually if one did not come in your kit. Let me know if you cannot find one and I'll see what I can do...

Yep, especially the trans shop owners that either don't know any better or are raking it in on parts mark-up (or for on-line shills like you are starting to sound like)....You know nothing about what you're talking about but by all means, keep talking...You're definitely good for laughs, that's for sure.

Nick,

We got the newly rebuilt trans together and it’s shifting great. One thing to note is that we ran the trans lines to the internal radiator cold case trans cooler and then to the external auxiliary. We also piped in an autometer temp sensor to the exit line of the transmission.

During normal highway and city driving the trans temp never got above 180-190 ish. During a long standstill of stopped traffic (10-20 min), the trans temp climbed to almost 215. Do you think I need to pull the mad max style fin cooler and change to a big tru cool 40k? We will be towing a 9k lb travel trailer with this old thing.
