I had back window shot out of my truck reposing one night while I was Doing a repo. Bullet went through back glass and out drivers door glass while I was behind the wheel. That is a sound I prefer to never hear again. Police wouldn't let me file charges eather since they didn't see it happen.

The utility truck with wheel lift are pretty sweet idea. I was checking out the new ones at the tow show few months back. They seem like there setup to do about anything within reason for motor club work. My only problem is the truck will be so heavy that it would be hard to tow something behind it or see to back up car in tow

**** that man.

Yah, I guess that would hurt having that extra weight.

Fryar John's mobile boat and trailer repair?

Fryar, lmao...

That or a change in occupation. That utility bed with the fuggin tow boom really stuck a hook in me. Not only a tow vehicle but can carry all those tools as well, I could make some serious cash with a setup like that.

NOOO. You've got a stable job where you're at? Don't fuggen even consider entering the tow biz. Get that out of and off your radar. Now if you wanted a cheap tow truck to do some vehicle scrapping on the side, that's another story, but DO NOT give up a stable job to go tow cars. NO NO and **** NO !!!

I use a sling quite frequent on customer tows. Many years ago I towed everything with a sling including corvettes. Hardest part to towing a vette with a sling is knocking the owner unconscious while you do it lol. I don't think I got my first wheellift till around 2000. I slung everything till that time and most of everything after that for awhile.

The tv shows start out with a pretty much good view of what they do, but go fake shortly. The show wrecked was a favorite for a long time till us profetional drivers started watching close and the staging for the show started showing up. Not every company needs a rotator do do the jobs they were doing. I'm not going brag, but a lot of those I could have used my old Chevy and done. I used to do a lot of repo work around 1998-2002 area and I could tell some good story's from doing that. Lizard lick was pretty good to start with but not everyone wants to fight over there old car getting repoed. 95% of ones I did they handed over the keys and never said anything. South beach tow does PPI work that's always troublesome. 20-30% of them are easy going tho and they gladly pay the drop fee and laugh about how you got them that time. Only 15-20% go nuts over you just taking there car and make the reality show grade. I could see a lot of PPI's going like south beach but still not enough for a show.

I wished to hell we could get $115 drop fee. Our state rate hook fee is $65, so that's what I charge as a drop fee. Now on PPI's those aren't state regulated so you can rip people off if you wanted to, but that's one thing I just won't do is rip someone off. If they're being a ***** and treating my like ****, or they did something very very stupid, I might bump it up to $80, but why bump it up to $80 when you know damn good and well they don't have it? Greedy ass Boss has to have his cut of course, so I have in the past taken $40 paid the boss and I got $0. If I didn't, I would have just taken it to the yard, bossman would have had them a $350 bill to get it out the next day, then the car would have never gotten picked up, sold at auction and I woudn't have gotten **** anyway, so why bother taking it back to the yard just so the boss could steal someone's car??? Bosses don't only **** their employess, they **** their customers too because they can.

One of the local tow company's got carried away a few years ago and impounded a city council mans dons car so now were at set rate of $120 max. Drop fees are around $50

Our State Rate Fees are ,$65 Hook, $3 a mile, $25 for REQUIRED Dollies or Roll Back, meaning, just because you show up in a roll back, don't mean you can charge it. It has to be a justifed MUST have been roll back or dollied to charge it, and $15 a day storage outdoor, $25 Indoor, and MUST be a reason it was indoors or you can't charge it. Like if you impounded a convertible off the side of the highway with no keys to put the top up, broken glass, or evidence protection.

I charge $45 hook and $60 flatbed. $3 a mile on top of that if not local. I'm the highest tow company in the area, but my area is just to cheap of rates. I can't run my trucks across town for $30 like others are doing. I charge $35-45 for unlocks and jumps $30 dollies or skates or go jacks. I pride myself in good service to keep customers happy.

Wrecker pic from the other day. This is the shop I used to run the frame machine at. Owner purchased the wrecker new. Just completely re-did it a couple of years ago.
