Same butt ugly face as the new Camaro. Conspiracy Theory Alert ahead!
Heard the other day that GM is shelving the Camaro again in 2023, may possibly be for good if some of the other rumors lead together. Fiat Chrysler was pursuing a merger with GM, but now looks like they are pushing a merger with Renault BMW which would make them the third largest carmaker. If that pans out, financials are predicting that GM will most likely make an offer to merge with Ford to fix each of their marketing questions. If that was to happen, that would be a reason not to need the Camaro in your lot since you would have the all new C8 and the Mustang to try and compete with for sales.
:mad3::suicide: in the words of forrest gump.... "thats all i have to say about that"

The K5 Blazer base engine was the 250? 292 was even an option for that, back in the day. They ran straight 6 through the entire decade of the 70s. K5s. I think the six got killed in ... '82? Swapped for the LG4.

Exactly. I had an 88 blazer with a 4.3l
Great little blazer, too.
I'll get a laugh or 2 at this, but my 4.3, with the raised comp, bored cylinders, cam, and ignition timing I'm somewhere in the ballpark of 250 HP in that little turd.

That little bitch winds up to 5500 and still makes power, I just haven't had the bravery to run it near 6k.

It's a LU3 4.3, out of a little later truck, CMFI.

I dont claim it be be a power house, or a v8 eater, but it did sure as **** smoke my buddies 5.3 he swapped in his c10

I'm unsure of the last year the 6 was available, but you are for sure correct.

I also had an 88 S10 with a 4.3. It was a lot quicker than my 98 S10 4.3 and my 08 Tahoe 5.3. Ran it up to 180k before we traded it on the 98, shoulda kept the 88

Dang. An 88 s10 with a 4.3 prolly was a great little pickup. So sad..dang!
Was it really faster than a balance shaft engine? Do tell!

My 91 blazer has the LB4 non-balance shaft 4.3, throttle body, rated 160h and 235 ft/lbs, while the 94 blazer has the L35 CPI 4.3 balance shaft rated at 200hp and 260 ft/lbs, both run 9.1:1 cr. The 91 feels like it gets it better than the 94 only because it's lighter (2 door and 2x4). Still thinking of just beefing the L35 up and dropping it in the 91 instead of v-8 conversion. With a turbo and intercooler on it like the typhoon or cyclone, really makes it fun.

We also had a 96 S10 4.3l vortec. It would out run the blazer, but pretty close.
I know that because we'd race each oth

I've raced an 88 4.3l blazer alongside a 96 4.3l vortec S10 pickup, and the pickup would get it.
Much smoother getting it, too. Lol....

Lol. That's a pretty good mashup. It brings to mind something I thought of a while back, which is, if the big three were so gung ho for the retro styling of the pony cars, why not go retro on the trucks too? I would have loved to see a modern twist on a '67 to '72 truck.
