Gross or net, it doesn't matter. They were both rated by the factory so there's still a 20 hp difference.

Yes, HP ratings have been NET for 40 years now.

I'm surprised about the difference in the Avalanches. Did you try putting the 4x4 Avy in 4hi? I remember a road test on a Lingenfelter Suburban and it was 1/10 of a second faster in 4hi than it was in 2hi.

Nope, never thought to race in 4WD since it had no problem hooking up, even with a G80 junk locking diff.

 Can you imagine bolting a wooden anything on to your motor?? It's bad enough to have a vehicle with wood paneling on the side let alone on the motor :laughing1:

Well I have seen wood used to repair a truck bed on a Ford I have a picture if you'd like to see it. Its the most white trash repair I have ever seen!

Was the repair on a wooden floor or the metal floor? :)

Heck, if he sands off the rough edges and paints it blue you wouldn't even notice.

That guy must be a carpenter. Carpenters try to fix everything with wood, my example... my uncle is a life long carpenter, my cousin built him a sweet ass squarebody 3/4 ton short bed with a fuel injected 350, everything restored. My uncle built a plywood bed cover for it.

we've done that before works great, used 2 sheets of 5/8 osb and a gallon of liquid nails construction adhesive, and a velcro tonneau cover. Some 1x3 furring strips and sheetrock screws.
