My Burban' has a collection of staples holding it up. What kind of time did it take to get that headliner backer board down..?
What was the biggest PITA part of getting it down i have to keep driving mine while the project is going on.Im going use 3M's premium undercoating on the back side

It took half an hour to get both panels out.

I went back and looked at the pics, that center hole in the rear for th a/c, even if I fill that in, the headliner is still too short....

do you just have to pull it until it pops out..? I would love to get rid of the staples.

The front trim around the top of the windshied and the 4 doors have to come off, the grab handles above each door, and sun shades have to come off. Trim piece above the second seat running across comes off.

In the rear, just take the screws out of the top of the trim to loosen it. I was able to wiggle it out back there. There are bolt points omn the top, for the 3rd seat belts, I didn't have to take them off, but it would probably make life easier puuting it back in.

Now mine had the rear A/C so I don't know what the tim piece looks like across the back of the truck on a non a/c rig.

I never thought of stapling it, I wish I did. I used thumb tacks instead, and sometimes they would fall out and stab you in the ass,lol.....

I also accidentally snapped my mirror of the front windshield pulling the headliner out, so I would recommend taking the mirror off too. Now I have to glue mine back on....

You saved yourself about $20 on the fabric.

Yeah, I did pretty good, and work will donate the needed 3M adhesive and the shop to do the work in. :High 5:

That is a place I would check out if anybody else is looking into doing there headliner fabric.

So for an update on this, I dug into it over the weekend to start getting ready for the headliner installed. Running the wiring, I installed a auto dimming mirror with compass, and ran the wire for the two rear 12 volt socket ports, the new 12 sockets and headliner material should be here by this weekend. Then I finish wiring in the rear sockets and be ready to attack the headliner remake on the next weekend I am stuck indoors.

Also, the thick purple wire is indeed for the rear fan, and is hooked to the switch in the dash, so I can turn it on or off if one of the kids leave something plugged in back there and I park it I can make sure the juice is cut off so I don't return to a dead battery. :waytogo:

BadAzz, I want to install my birthday present too, but I'm waiting til I get a new windshiled. All my fuggin squares need windshields except the good 85 cab out at my dads. So I need 3 windshields of the 4. And the 1 good one does have 2 rock chips, but I can live with that, they are low until they grow. I'll hit then with a glass drill bit so they don't grow.
