Can't adjust input on the truck. Lock ring rusted in place and i can't get steering shaft removed. I could back it of about 1" which could have been enough if i could get the lock ring adjusted.

Just did the output shaft and there is still slop, but now the slop is the entire way through the gear box. Might not be slop, might be the proper amount of play. I tested it lock to lock with the front end on Jack stands and it feels ok

Should get me through the next month when i should have a week off to tear it apart first week of feb. If i have to i will get a reman box.

How do i get the shaft off? It didn't collapse like it maybe should?

or remove the box from the frame to remove the shaft from it then remove the plastic pins from the collapsible shaft and replace with small set screws so the shaft can be collapsed with out having to remove the box from the frame next time.

You have to torch the plastic out. So remove it from the vehicle.

Will try that. Going to test drive it tomorrow and see how my adjustment did.
