I've heard the same thing. To use a SawZall instead of a torch or welder for a nice clean cut and not heat to disturb the springs temper.


Yes, temperamental springs are bad...They'll bounce on you.

Spring rate and height should not screw with the ride so much, what kind of shock absorbers do you run? Maybe a set of stiff dampened ones would solve any bouncing issues.

well then, if that's true, i'll be replacing my front leaf springs with steel tubing. i'll just make sure to install good shocks.

that's incorrect, spring rate has EVERYTHING to do with ride quality.
