Side window defrost add?

So Im currently wrestling with the idea of a doing a full mid 90s dash swap in to my 84 k10. Mainly for a smoother layout and the side window defrost vents. My current dash read isn't in bad condition. Has anyone ever cut and plumbed in side window defrost vents? I'll keep my stock dash if this isn't a huge ordeal to do. I've already been brainstorming it. Newer vehicles have pop out vents I could cut holes and pop into the old dash. Than use a small hose to somehow tie into the back defrost Y plastic piece.

Ideas or thoughts?

Man, I don't know. That sure seems like a lot of hassle and expense that may not be needed. My setup works great, and it was free. You just have to make sure to get the inlet of the hose positioned correctly, so the windshield still gets some heat too.....

I do think your hose is a bit large for the volume of air the stock system can move. I fear your air would be chilled before it reaches its destination. Lol

Ahh, you forgot that I was just saying that this heater is the best one I have had, out of any vehicle I've ever owned. New or used. We're gonna roast some marshmallows with it tonight!

Ya I was thinking of grabbing a newer dash to swap in. But if I could easily just add side vents and paint mine I'd be good.
