Looks good! Did you get a chance to find out what needs to happen to make it fit? Can you just mod the brackets?

looks like i can either drill new holes (the buckets had 4 new holes drilled) or take the bracket off... i was thinking about swapping brackets, the seat sits a little too high for me.

No idea to be honest. If it was me, I'd locate some brackets for a stock square body bench (since that what would fit in the truck originally and to the original holes) and then see how I could get those to fit on to this newer bench seat you have. That would be your best bet to avoid modifying you cab floor.

thanks man! this was the best advice for the seat swap!
so i took the brackets off the 82 gmc parts truck at my bros house. they were about 4" too long on the top of the rail that bolts to the seat

i bolted the outer back ear to the stock hole on the newer seat

heres a better shot of the rail, so i cut the front of the rail and im going to drill a new hole at the front, and one at the back for the inner ear

ALL the factory holes in the cab matched up!! so an 82 seat bracket with 4" cut off the front will bolt right up!!

so heres the before and after the bracket swap, its 100x better! looks better, feels better, i dont have a wheel on my lap

i still need to drill the 4 holes, but i tossed it in to see how it would look and how close it was to fitting. I really lucked out! besides cutting a little extra off the front, its pretty much a straight bolt on with 4 new holes drilled, 2 front holes threw the bracket and seat, and 2 in the back threw the seat. the truck has a whole new feel behind the wheel now. i like it!

What I find funny about these trucks is in stock form they are good trucks. But you throw a few modern ammenties into them and they become great trucks.

Great point, I upgraded the radio to Bluetooth a while back, and love putting miles on it still. Great trucks.

Nice job @79K10!!!

Thanks! the car gods were with me on this one, a little sawing and drilling, and it was a damn near perfect fit .... thanks everyone else for all the input...

I think my carbs flooding out, its ok if im crusing around 40, but at stops it starts to bog down, sometimes i have to hold it on the floor and crank it for 5 secs till it fires up, is that flooding? i did adjust the float the other day. the front s were gushing out and the back was pretty dry. (i think ill pick up some of those sight glass plugs) anyway all 4 mixture screws were way different, one was 1/4 out,1 out,2out,3out, i seated them all and counted the turns, then backed em out 1.5 on all 4. fires up great, infact i just blipped the key at 10pm and it fired right up... well ill mess with it tomorrow ...i found my timing light and ive got a can of carb spray so ill give that a shot tomorrow ... ill pick this back up on the project thread
