My 83 step side still has the factory radio! I’m open to suggestions on a modern Bluetooth Amazon sourced sound system.

I would be interested in your factory radio if it still works.

I haven’t even checked, yet. It’s just parked in the driveway. I have no time frame on the audio project. But, I’ll let you know.

Easton did his entire audio system through “scamazon” cuz he’s a kid and needs everything yesterday.

I have to say, been great system so far. Did a kenwood stereo and Kicker 6X9” s in the rear corners and two 12” subs behind the seat and a 1500 Watt amp under the seat. Got the install kit with it as well. Got it all the next day for about $900…

“Sound System” is a widely subjective term…

What’s your budget range, and what do you want to get out of it… besides Bluetooth capabilities

Gotta define "loud". I'm older, but I'd say I'm mid-range-above-mid-range quality ear. Kids want it loud....and don't care how it sounds.

Then you have those that will have it all crisp/clear/deep/expensive. With about 45% crisp/clear/deep/expensive......Go with a head unit of your liking.

An amp to run your speakers.....above your standards.....in other words find a amp/speaker that will fit ur needs....then step up notch (depending on value/price). Then get a sub that will match those and fit.....

Amazon, just because it’s easy. I haven’t had a loud car stereo in a long time.
Ok, I’m going to dumb it up. When do you use the RCA jacks? With a powered subwoofer?

RCAs send the signal from the head unit to the amp(s). Or to a powered sub because it has an amp built in.
Haven’t decided how I’m gonna run/split the signals /RCA yet on the blue truck.
Got new L/R dash speakers installed. (Will see how these high powered little 3.5s do) Got good aftermarket 4x10s in the back from prev owner. And a 4ch amp and powered sub.
Probably gonna use an old HU that kids buddy gave him. Dash is already hacked for a single din. This HU has Bluetooth and 2 sets of pre outs.

Not building a competition system by any means but 4 corners of full range at 50-80W rms and an 800W peak quality powered sub should do the trick!

Cructhfield all the way! Retrosounds with plug adapter. No cutting, Bluetooth, knobs and buttons and I get excellent sound from the original speakers. Wonderful upgrade, no regrets!

Okay, speakers not bad, not great! OE speakers are 3” in the front and 10”x? In the rear. They do sell replacements, and then there‘s 6x9’s, kick panel speakers. I believe the retrosound has plugs for amps and subwoofer. I mostly like the controls compared to my sons Alpine

My 1980 has one single speaker in the center of the dash. I was planning on making a plate to mount tweeters in that location, 6.5" mids in replacement kick panels, and 6x9"s behind the seat on mine. It works ok now with the stock single speaker, but when I get the fuel injected motor and overdrive in it, I'm more likely to be taking it on longer drives and I do like listening to my Octane on Sirius XM. I'm planning on using all those components because I got them for free in a Honda I got for cheap and flipped.
