So you use a little bead of sealant where the two gaskets meet?

Next is the valve covers, timing cover, and engine block for the old ford blue paint.

It'll make a hell of a difference in the final finish. And dont forget gloves/eye protection!!! Your first pic of the ford blue paint job, is that some rust peeking through or just some glare? Like along the edge going into the sump?

just an FYI but if you are redoing this thing, it's well worth the cash to throw in a new fuel pump and water pump, they are cheap, not sure on ford's but chevys are like $10-15 for a FP and $20-30 for a WP. it's just cheap insurance.

Not bad, it would be better to get new ones and paint them (I'd paint the wp and leave the fp unpainted) rather than go through all the trouble to strip and paint those and they go out not long after getting it together. The wp seal will probably leak, and the fp diaphragm will probably be dry rotten.

too high when autozone is cheaper. I don't deal with NAPA they have nothing and want an arm and leg for what they do have.
