So does it swing to the right on a door hinge?
Yes it does, my apologies for the late response. I cut the lift gate glass away and removed a bunch of the locking mechanism from the latch. The hinge is not the most sturdy but it serves its purpose. It was going to be very complicated to make the gate drop and was way easy to make it swing with a simple hinge.
