Hi all

Sorry if this is not the right forum

Which set of lights should be low-beam versus high-beam?

I thought low-beam would be the upper pair?

Come to think of it, I've never owned a vehicle with stacked lights like this before!

Thanks.

85 doesn't have stacked lights.

Maybe yours does not but I am sure they were doing that in 1985.

I stand corrected. Didn't realize there was an option. Thanks Redfish.

You actually surprised me on this one! I know you know more than I do about these trucks, I sort of assumed you misunderstood his question.

I have an 85. I know there are a standard and a deluxe grill but I didn't know the the rpo v22 was an option that added quad lighting. I'm always open to learning something I didn't know.

Dim low beams on top. Cars behind you leave a shadow of your truck. Working on a solution, check these out

From the factory it should be low beams on top, though you can invert the harnesses and lights to make the bottoms the low beams (I don't know why anyone would actually want to do that though). Also be mindful of the difference between top and bottom. The light itself is the same size, but the number of terminals are different. Top has 3, bottom has two.

If you go the LED route, make sure you put resistors behind them, if they aren't included in the retro-fit kit. Older 12 volt systems don't take kindly to full power LEDs.

Headlight Experts is what I was considering. Supposed to be able to simply plug and play with no modifications.

I'm running the headlight expert LEDs on my 75 Stepside. I had to call them to get the orientation right as their video is incorrect. I'm very happy with them. They are a very clean, white light and are super bright and clear. The lenses also have the fluting on them so you don't blind oncoming traffic. Yes, they were plug and play.
