Question, are all full size square body Blazers referred to as K5 ?

Disagree.
Not bein a dick at 80..but

1988 Blazer is not called a K5, it is a V10 and therefore not a K5. It's even on the title.
I spoke to the tag agency trying to get a title that said K5.

Blazer "4x4" is the correct submodel.
K5 is not the proper name in some model years. They also had Blazer "S-10" in 1988, not available in 4x4.

I think s10 4x4 was in 89? Anyways.

R and V , C and K , centerbolt valve covers mark the difference.
Hope this helps!

I shop for 87 Blazer parts... The 88 ones are hard to track down.

The small GMC Jimmy was an s-15 . Just to confuse things more.

And to answer the OP question all Chevy blazers were K5s weather 2 or 4wd. GMC Jimmys I am not sure if they used k5 or k15

I had a 1986 GMC Jimmy. The only badging on the outside was GMC, Jimmy and then near the taillights it said Sierra Classic.

The older ones just said GMC Jimmy also. No K emblem.

The fender emblem still said K5 in '88. Info on the title just confuses things sometimes and it also varies from state to state.

Wisconsin doesn’t list model names on titles

So my car

1999 BUIC SEDAN BRWN(very restricted color options..lol)

gmc is 1980 GMC TRCK BRWN/WHT

I don’t think dmv will let you use two colors anymore on title here so it would drop white presumably

I have a GMC, it's a K-5
And while the name was discontinued, GM continued to make the 2-door model until '99, just renamed it "Tahoe" in 1995. I have three.

That K5 likely got a "tailgate" transplant from a Suburban.

The trailering special emblem on my 1988 V30.

what kind of Sierra Classic emblem was it, the classic Square font or like the newer font, like on the dash

88 s10 blazer 4x4 was avail in 1988 model year.Only in a 2 door model, the factory called them 3 door. With a 2.8 v6 engine. The s10 blazers were designated as T10 and the GMC s15 were called T15 by the factory anyway. But not on their fenders tho.The full size blazer K5 only meant full size "Blazer" and nothing else.

Suburban and K5 tailgates don't swap and they only share some of the hardware. I've seen several K5's with a Trailering Special badge on the tailgate.

That’s quite ta hoe collection you got there (clever?)

Yeah, clever.

Actually, one is a '92 Blazer, two are '97 Hoes. All 4WD and lift gate "hecho en Mexico" models.
We have three grandkids that live in the foothills of the front range of the Rockies. Each of the kids will help build the engine and rework interiors as needed.
And each will have a much envied classic when they start driving.
