In line with the thread here below about parts quality and availability, I’m reusing the original gas filler and vent hoses on my 86, due to availability and the fact that they’re in surprisingly good shape. Only a tiny amount of minor splitting on a couple of the ends which I’ve trimmed off.
But thinking for the next 35 years, would a shot coat of plasti dip on them help preserve them or just a waste of time? Thinking a barrier to oxidation, road debris etc might help? They don’t see much if any UV light , hence why they’re still in good shape, but, thoughts?
