Hey guys and Gals, I'm interested in installing some sort of outside thermometer in the square. I recently installed a rear view mirror with map lights in it, so for that reason I don't really want to change to a mirror that displays temperature.

I've kind of been looking at these two things: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IGUGO1E/

And

I actually like the second one the best, date, time, compass in addition to the thermometer would be nice, but the reviews are not all that great. Maybe you know of a better option? I'm open to thoughts. I've also home built a shelf similar to the shelf-it product, so finding a place to mount something like that is not an issue as I can mount it on the shelf.

Got an idea? I'd like to hear it. Thanks.

What Rear View mirror did you use? If it's GM, there's a good chance you could get a replacement with map lights as well as compass/temp display, and it would most likely piggyback off of your previous work instead of replace it. Just a thought.

I've seen some like this that would be a slightly different option. No firsthand experience though. I like that you could get a few options together for other monitoring/USB charging/whatever for a reasonable price and mount them all on one plate.

I have the auto dimming temp/compass mirror from a 98 Suburban on my square. Its about the same size as the original and only required running the wiring to the temp sensor mounted on the center bar in front of the AC condenser. I'd maybe think about maybe putting something like that in yours and then putting overhead console map lights from the same donor in your overhead shelf thingy?

@Bextreme04 That could possibly be be an option. I'd really rather have the temp mounted to the shelf, but well I think about that. I will admit my Jeep has an auto dimming mirror and that is pretty nice to have.
