UH, that doesn't pan out to well. Kooper says it swaps ends pretty easily, about 3 times so far!!!.....on the snow packed roads

Lol, I know all about that. It's how my old truck got so rusty, because I drove it through the salty winters. With the locker in the rear, if you moved your right foot ever so slightly too far while going around a corner, that sucker came around unbelievably quick and there was nothing you could do about it. Just hang on and hope nobody was coming the other way, lol.

Lol, I know all about that. It's how my old truck got so rusty, because I drove it through the salty winters. Yes. Front lights illuminate fine. Front turns don’t blink at all, either. When I turn the lights on the rears illuminate, too. Just no brake lights or turn signals.

I will certainly check the bulbs. :)


My square was doing that exact ****. So I bought new flasher and brake switch at pedal and bam it all works now. Hope this helps

Gotcha Ted, BUT this is a 17 year with very little experience in winter driving. Plus the fact that when I was teaching him to drive, I ALWAYS told him RIGHT FOOT DOWN, LEFT FOOT UP!!!!!!

OK, but you and I and everybody else here KNOWS that it's usually bad before a 17 year old realizes it!!!!!!!....LOL..... Actually he is a pretty level headed kid......BUT he IS my grandson!!!!!

So good progress on the baby square today.

For the sake of being thorough I went back and double checked all fuses again. Apparently, somehow I missed a fuse that was blown and that fixed that issue. I now have brake lights and turn signals in the rear. :party33:

Also, @RangRayy was gracious enough to come over and assist me with my clutch issue. Found that the slave cylinder was bad so we replaced it. With that said, we’ve still got some trouble shooting to do. The clutch will not fully engage for some reason. We THINK we got the system fully bled. So we’re going to do more research and see what we can find out and reconvene after the holiday season. That’s the next big hurdle to overcome. In the meantime, I’ll be replacing shocks, blower motor, heater core, spark plugs and maybe wires. :popcorn:

I found the transmission front bearing retainer that the throw-out bearing slides on was broken in Koopers. Took off the little inspection plate on the drivers side of the bellhousing and saw the TO bearing wasn't in the correct place. Got one from ITW in Boise(IdahoTransmissionWarehouse) along with a new clutch and all works as it should......so far. Also kind of a bear to get it all bled out, too. We had to remove the slave and tilt it to get the air out!

That’s what we had to do with the slave as well. Glad he was there as I’ve never done trans work before. But I learned a little today. I’ll have to take a look at what you said was your issue. If we have to replace the throw out bearing then I’ll be replacing the clutch too

Yep, remove the slave and tilt it so that the line fitting is the highest point. Then manually push in the rod a few times to push all the air out of the system.

That’s what I was doing and several bubbles worked their way to the top. I’m hoping there’s not a bubble trapped in the master.
