Check the wiring diagrams for it. If it's setup like a 88-95 GMT400 the speedo goes to the drac an the drac feeds the cluster, cruise an ecm. As long as the drac has power/ground the speedometer should work with everything else removed.

Temp an oil pressure should go direct to the cluster as well. We swapped a 350 in the 95 1500 my son had with an hei and a sniper. All the gauges still worked like factory. Just find a way to adapt the stock sender to your replacement engine an they should work fine.

A carb engine with an hei just needs power an ground to the coil to run, after starting anyhow.

Agree with @bluex . Kooper's 91 S10 700R4 is hooked to the drac and then the speedometer.... works perfectly..... Oh Sh!t that'll come back to bite me!!!!!

All that makes perfect sense! :waytogo: There's so much info out there it's kind of overwhelming LOL Sure would be a lot easier if someone who wants a project would just come buy this thing. :rolleyes:

Kooper's has turned into a kick-ass rig. Gets a lot of looks and comments, when he's out with it. Sadly, with all he has going on(house and land purchase) he has very little time to enjoy the damn thing!!!
