I’ll get pics upon install but over the last couple of days new weatherstripping has arrived and new clutch and flywheel are to be here very soon! Ryan and I are going to attack the clutch on Saturday. I HOPE I can drive her out of the garage by the end of Saturday.

Also got my order from LMC with the panels and body mounts to repair the front body mounts on the cab along with any bad spots on the floor as above those body mounts is pretty soft on the floor. My goal is to have that complete by the end of January.

We got everything torn out today and we’re ready to start putting it back together. Who knew that parts that have been married together for 32 years wouldn’t want to be separated  we found that the throw out bearing was for sure bad and the clutch, pressure plate and flywheel also had considerable wear on them so apparently all the things needed replaced  along with that, I’ll be replacing the starter, trans mount, u joint at the rear of the driveshaft and a portion of the exhaust. I just couldn’t bring myself to install old parts back in since we’re there anyway and part of the exhaust needed to be cut off anyway in order to get the trans down.

we’re now ready to put everything back together again some time this week when time allows :waytogo:

Are there any places around that deal in s10 stuff like LMC does for bigger trucks?

I’m still baffled that it still had the factory u joint held in with plastic/fiberglass strands. Hopefully we can get it back on the ground this week.

LMC handles s10 parts too so I’ve ordered a couple things from them like the floor pans and body mount stuff

Yeah that was wild, wasn’t it?? I do think our progress for getting it back together will be faster than it was getting it apart :) cannot wait to take her for her first spin after the work is done!

also new u joints

got it all back together and things are better but definitely needs MORE bleeding. Slave is already new but I’m going to replace the clutch master too then we KNOW it’s all new and I should be back on the road at that point. Cannot wait for this truck to be back on the ground lol

I’m learning a lot about manual transmissions and I can’t thank Ryan enough for all the help!!

So, ripped out some carpet to get a full picture of the condition of the floors. Overall great but as expected very soft over the body mounts. Also replaced the weather stripping tonight and the O2 sensor.

Here’s a pretty nifty find. Found it under the carpet. It’s the paper that tells the assembly line what carpet to put in it :)

Here’s pics of the floor. The passenger side is much more noticeableable in the pic but both sides are rotten. Pretty interesting because from the bottom the driver side is the one that looks the worst lol

I think you're gonna need to take tinkering out of the thread title. This is looking like a full-time project. Lol

Looking good tho. Love the pics :waytogo:

LOL she’s getting to be a full on project. Those front mounts and the floor are the worst of it other than the driver side of the bed that got side swiped by a truck at some point  the difference is I’ll probably leave the bed issue alone so that when my kids put their own dents in it I won’t be upset :happy175: the floor and body mounts will be fixed in the next few weeks, tho.

the good thing is the older two boys are getting their hands dirty already so that’s great!! My oldest put the weatherstripping in for me tonight. My 11 yr old did the O2 sensor with just some direction from me :) So the intended purpose of the truck is paying off already.
