Oil Leak - Dipstick tube?

So my engine is leaking oil. On this side of the engine. Honestly, that bolt on the valve cover was hard to access when I tightened and that oil dipstick has no o ring and pops out if you pull the tube with no effort. Because the dipstick itself is pretty bad, Id like to replace it. Does anyone know what that kind is? And would it stay secured in the engine?

Also, is maybe the oil from valve cover? I did cork gaskets on them in summer. Passenger is dry

Taylor, clean the valve cover and the area around it.
You have to see where the leak is and it's hard to see when the cover is dirty. Make sure your pcv is working ok. Pressure from possible blow-by may be pushing the oil past the gasket if the pcv is faulty. Also, double-check the pcv line is plugged into the correct port on your carb.
I seem to recall you can use a pressure/vacuum gauge on the dipstick tube to measure blow-by. Probably can also do that on the valve cover.

The front of carb port on a 1604 Edelbrock is the pcv valve. the pcv valve is new. new hose, no kinks. The grommet is not new.

It was hard to clean when I did the gasket and tighten bolt. It appeared good. But Im still wanting a new dipstick. Does anyone know which one I need to buy?

The PCV valve is new? It looks like there is rust on the one in the picture.

I have to agree with the valve cover suggestion. That’s a lot of oil on that intake.

I can’t help on the dipstick but they always seem to be a problem to find the right one based on threads in various forums.

You may be able to add a fluorescent tracer to the oil to locate the leak

Looks like your intake needs to be tightened down or reseated.

The pcv is new, it just got rusty since summer. Hot and humid area. But ill throw a new one on, cant hurt. It stays relatively clean as is. Havent noticed a lot of oil burning, about 4 hours running(off road) and no noticeable change on dipstick.

The PCV valve is new? It looks like there is rust on the one in the picture.

The valve cover DID seem to me like it was a little warped when I cleaned it up, but it appeared to sit flat on another surface. A few dents, yes. Very possible it is warped enough where the gasket isnt applying pressure evenly. But that was the hardest corner to clean and get the gasket for me, so its possible that was an issue, too. But, I might try snugging with a socket and extension with a ratchet just to be sure. It seems in agreement that the valve cover is the source. Since I dont want the dipstick tube leaking, does anyone know where the o ring is supposed to sit or if it seats somewhere? I can pull the tube and show the end, it just has a flared up lip about 3/4 inch up the end.

Looks like your intake needs to be tightened down or reseated.

Long story.. haha. basically, 2 bolts are not doing much on the intake, the one being the very corner bolt by cylinder 1. Bolt sheared with very little effort on a 1/4 ratchet after threading half way. No effort, just sheared.. I can EZ out it, but its a very very minimal weep and I didnt want to risk hurting threads while its cold and the truck is needed. Summer I can do that and if I were to hurt it, I can spend extra time and doing so comfortably.

I know the leak is coming from the rear on the drivers side, everything else is dry. Are you saying using the right stuff on the valve cover and dipstick or just the dipstick?
