Hey guys, my name is Zach and I’m from around Flowery Branch, Ga. Just thought I’d join up since I just picked up my ‘85 GMC. I’ve had tons of GM trucks over the years, several NBS (99-06), an 85 K5 Blazer and a ‘70 shorty stepper. Been wanting a dropped square for years to hotrod. I also work at Auto Metal Direct so I deal with parts for these trucks every day lol.

I was looking for a mostly un-screwed with truck and this fit the bill best of any I looked it. Picked this up in NC last weekend. ‘85 with 104k original miles. 305/350, 2.73 peg leg, PW/PL/tilt/cruise, A/C and heat work, just needs some carb adjustments and some tweaking. Was a long bed, guy I got it from had it cut down just a couple months ago. Also rocking a McGaughys 4.5/6 drop with brand new 20” TT2s, new brakes. NO RUST whatsoever. This thing is MINT!

Welcome. I'm not into lowered trucks so I may not be the best person to say anything about it. But to me that bumper does not fit now with the style of that truck.

Looks amazing though. I personally would like it better at factory ride height sitting on factory 15" wheels.

Welcome from TX.
Good looking truck, I like the 2 tone blue.
I've used AMD metal on my K5 build. High quality.

You just want the bumper 'thingies'.

Welcome from NE GA.

Thanks guys! I’m excited to be in a square again, these have always been my favorite trucks.

Sweet ride. Nice score.
Best thing about these trucks is they look good stock, lifted or lowered. Just a matter of personal preference.
