Which kind of Cherry Bomb mufflers are currently installed? They offer a few models. Or are they not actual "Cherry Bomb" brand, and just some random, red painted glass pack mufflers?
Year before last I put some thrush's "cherry's" on the truck hoping they were the same as the pair I payed $20 total for the set in the '90's....nope...made it less than 50'....didn't even get on the road and I knew they weren't the same. 2 weeks later they were off.

A few years ago, I bought some generic red glass packs for my station wagon. I think I got them from Summit maybe. Other than being a larger size pipe, they sound just like the generic red painted glass packs that I got from the local farm store in '98 and put on my Impala.

Interesting cutaway. The core is perforated. Every cheap and generic "cherry bomb" I've ever used was a louvered core.

I imagine that I wouldn't like that perforated core because it may kind of have the ho-hum Magnaflow sound that I don't care for. The actual "Cherry Bomb" brand had a big resurgence maybe 15 years ago, can't say I've ever bought any of their products.

Oh, along with the louvered core, they are directional in their installation. If you install them backwards, the exhaust will be louder from what I remember.

Flowmasters sounded a little raspy for my taste, adding a set of resonators,“glasspacks”, took the raspiness out and am very pleased
