I do. Just the sales tax here on retail purchase vs the right Amazon purchase covers the cost of mount and balance.

I have bought from tire rack many times because the price was great. Then with the mounting and balancing costs, and the disposal fees and other fees, and I started shopping locally after using tire rack to get the prices per each tire, and the price for a set. Then I go to the tire shop and bargain with them to meet or beat that price, and if they want my business, they usually beat the prices, which brings the out-the-door-price down as well.

Yes I said I found free from my dad. Just need tubes. They are old but they match amd are aggressive. And 100 miles is quite the journey for tires. I don’t use cl anymore since it.. eh.. fell behind

So they’re basically junk? If they’re “old” and won’t hold a bead then they’re not actually any good.

^Totally. I’ve bought a few sets of tires in store recently as well. You’re correct, some places are now competitive with online prices for total out the door price. Especially on more common sizes it seems. Recently, tires for the SRT8 were same price in store out the door, as online. As well as my work truck.
I was stating the online option for AGs benefit as she pretends that she lives in the great north woods where nothing is available and apparently traveling to the “city” is out of the question.
Bingo, order online for cheap, delivered to your door. Take em down to Billyjoejimbob’s tire shop and have them installed.
However the tire conundrum has become yet another long term pontification rather than a get er done and move on to the next task type of thing.
