Not sure whether this belongs here or in the "electrical" section...

I'm finalizing the wire harness installation on the LQ4/4L80E swap into my 78 K10. Unfortunately, I don't recall how the keyed starter wire and crank position sensor wire are routed. They originate from the throttle body connector and route down under the exhaust manifold, if I remember correctly, but I can't see a good way to get the cable down from the head to under the manifold.

Anybody have any pics of how this is routed?

i'll try to look this weekend at mine. I think it ran along the oil pan towards the front of the engine then crossed sides and then up to the top side into the main loom of wires. I kept mine with the stock harness and fuse box, so i didn't have to touch many wires.

Mines a LM7 but it should be the same. something went wrong here. But it runs thru a channel by the power steering pump across the front of the motor. I'll attempt the pictures again.

You must be registered for see images attach

You also have the battery wires running in the same spot, There is a protection plastic cover that attaches in the front but it wouldn't fit properly so I removed it.

This is exactly what I needed, thank you! Now I hope the harness has enough length to go that way, it looks a wee bit short....

mine had heat shield tape for the last 8" or so, it starts getting back close to the exhaust collector where it plugs in and by the starter.

not sure if it helps, but my starter wiring runs under the intake to the starter and T's off the alternator just under the throttle body.
