Looking for opinions on Lowering Kits

What lowering kit rides the best? I am looking at maybe a 4/6??? Just thinking about dropping a little lower and using the proper parts. It’s kinda rigged right now.

McGaughy drop spindles..2 inch paired with 2 inch drop coils for the front...flip kit for the rear along with shock extensions so you can still keep the factory length shocks, unless you want to upgrade to drop shocks (much better ride).

I had Mcgaughys setup in the front until I decided to jump into the deep end of the pool and completely bag the truck.

My opinion is I look for trucks like this all the time to replace the rusted out bodies on 4x4s.

Thanks, that’s kinda what I was looking at myself. When going that route with the flip kit.... would I still need to be doing the c notch?

Some people who have installed the rear flip kit did not install a mini notch. I did because I wanted some extra clearance for the rear axle.

Does anyone have any opinions on shackles? I have a stock height 78 on 31s and have been considering grabbing some 2 inch lowering shackles to level it out

If you install drop shackles, you may have to notch the bed reinforcement rails for clearance. I had to before my truck was bagged.

Funny thing is, my bed is already notched. That and the new stock front coil springs makes me thing this thing was lowered at some point, but the po stole his drop springs and shackles before selling it

This truck I used the following:
3" belltech spindles (on sale at Jegs for $280)
New Moog Big Block coils with bottom coil cut ($75 amazon )
KYB front shocks ($38 Ebay)
Rear flip kit ($40 Ebay)
Rear shock extenders ($45 Ebay)

Less than $500 for quality parts and I will put the ride and handling up against any lowered C10 in the country!

Cheaper and better ride than drop coils, with the more heavy duty springs you get a better spring rate after cutting. I have a dropped 83 with the same setup, except I cut the "factory" coils. The one with big block coils rides much better. Use Moog 6454.

thats cool. ill check them out. going to be dropping mine here pretty soon hopefully.
