I talked to the Exaust place today and got a price on new Dual exaust. Having troubles deciding what to do.

Dual with glass packs $250.00 installed
Dual with Turbo mufflers $300.00 Installed
Dual with Flowmaster $350.00 Installed

Now I have ALWAYS been a turbo muffler kind of guy, with that said I am thinking about making this truck a little more notecable (NOT excessively loud). I not real sure what to think about the glass pack idea, I did have flowmasters on my 94 Z28 and honestly after a week I HATED it.

What is everyones opinion on these 3 setups or better yet throw some new ideas at me. Only 1 stipulation NO TIPS

Glass packs= fun to play with, anoying as hell on a dayly basis.

Turbos= nice mellow tone if you don't want anyone paying any attention to you.

Flowmasters=Cool sound/attention getter/maybe a little to loud for you if you hated them after only a week.

My thoughts exactly, The flowmaster that was on the Z28 was some kind of crossflow ****, personally i think it sounded kind of crappy. I had thought there were different series flowmasters that some were louder then others?

On glass packs isnt it the shorter they are the louder they are? What length's should I be interested in if I go this route?

LOL I didnt think they made a "less loud" glass pack.

What sound are you really wanting?
What made you hate the flowmasters?

I really dont know for sure on the loudness of glasspacks changing with sizes, thats just what a few cousins always told me, they always ran 10" glasspacks and they were LOUD but they also used tips.

The sound I am after is like a turbo muffler BUT I would like to be able to get a little more sound out of it then what mine has now.

What I didnt like about the flowmaster was it had a REALLY bad crackle to it, it sounded worse then glasspacks, and there was NO quiet spot in it.

Right now I have Magnaflow mufflers and turn downs. These might be what you are looking for, they are "barely" louder than a turbo muffler. Personally they arent loud enough for me.

There's been a lot of bad talk about Flowmasters these last few years... everyone has them, hurt flow, bad sound, yada yada. I don't care, I LOVE the sound of a 40 series Flowmaster on a healthy v8. But it must be sealed up good, exhaust leaks make it all sound like crap.

Also, i've had a couple Camaros with the crossflow style 80 series muffler and I never experienced any cackle?

lol it is quite possable that there was something else going on with the car itself 2, after all it was an LT1. DOOAAAHHHHH prolly gonna get da hammer for that lol.

No seriously, I like the sound of the 40 series mufflers also, but it doesnt take me long and it gets old to me and gives me a headache just driving across town.

Naw K30 chasis doesnt require cats, also deleting the rear O2 sensors so no cats needed there either also Missouri only does emissions testing in St. Louis so I am safe there also.
