What's the story on USA1? I was going to order some vinyl dye and cab mounts from them.

The problem with USA1 is they take your money immediately but then cannot supply the item. They’ll say 16 weeks and 18 months later you’re still waiting. You question them and they’ll say it will ship in one week or one month, but of course it doesn’t.

For some items such as paint you may get it in a few weeks, but for dash pads, door panels and other big ticket items the wait can extend to years. A couple of years ago I ordered a dash pad in July. A cancelled it 18 months later and ordered from Cheyenne Truck. 8 days after I ordered I installed my new dash.

@molus, that’s incredible. I’m not familiar with coverlay and filler option. Do you have a handy links?

I just googled dash filler compound and bought from my local auto shop (I’m in New Zealand.)

I bought a dash pad from USA1, fit was a pain, the metal for the upper corner dash bezel screw clips is just two small pieces somewhat bonded in the corners, had to make my own and bond them in the proper place, pad had to be trimmed everywhere to work. Never never will I use USA1 again!!!!!!!!!!!!

So what I learned today….

Both Dashes Direct and Just Dashes dye their dashes to the required color. None use vinyl made in the correct color. Not sure why as dying the product takes time and money, but can assume our colors are not readily available.

Cheyenne Trucks is making dashes for the 81-87 trucks now. The dash for my 75 will follow. No time table given.
