Leaking power steering fluid from Hydra boost unit.

Hi have a 85 C-30 , looked under truck and have PS fluid under it at the Hydra-Boost unit.. Also have had big section of Master cylinder is low slightly.... Have added twice to it over last couple of months..Truck has been sitting thru out the winter . Is it a big deal to change Boost unit and what unit is best to buy with all the China JUNK out there ???? Help.Thanks DR.

(Get quality name brand)sounds like your master cylinder needs replaced and also hydroboost. The brake fluid leak probably agitated the hydroboost seal. The hydroboost unit is pretty expensive to replace, you could probably get a seal kit for around 20 bucks and replace that front seal when you're changing master cylinder. I think there's a snap ring behind there.

Sounds like you should change the master cylinder and the hydro boost unit. I helped Dad replace the vacuum booster on our '90 R2500 Burb, was a good bit of work but it's easier to do with two people (one in the cab and one under the hood). When the hydro boost unit went out on my OBS Crew Cab, I had it done at a shop. Took them several hours.
