Leaking Metal Fuel Line??

My -84 C-10 is leaking gas along the frame rail between the pump and the tank selector valve.
It seems improbable to me that it has a leak in the metal fuel line, but can't see any real alternative.....

It's not super likely but also not impossible, these things are 40+ years old now so if the metal line was rubbing anywhere or got some dirt/crap stuck up against it, it could've rubbed a hole or rusted out.

But what's more likely is a section of rubber hose is leaking where it meets the metal one. No way to know without getting under and inspecting everything close.

There is a metal clamp on the frame rail side just ahead of the tranny cross member...........
Seems to be the forward terminus........but runs toward the rear past the cross member.......

If it was a hole in the feed line, you wouldn't be able to pump any gas... it would just be sucking air. It is most likely either the weep hole in the bottom of the pump or a leak in the return line. There are two rubber lines from the frame rail to the pump and two more from the metal line to the switching valve. I'd start there.

Mine was leaking in the same spot. Return line rusted just ahead of the rubber hose. There is the feed, return, vent and brake lines all clamped together. Good place for dirt to collect and hold moisture.

Pull the rubber hose at each end leave the rubber attached to the suspect line,put a bolt in rubber hose as a stopper squirt everything with dish soap and water hit the other rubber hose with some air pressure. Look for bubbles. Just blow some air in it,don't clamp the compressor hose to it.
