looks like bearing caps are bolted to oil pan holes for the feet. Not sure if the piston holes line up or need to be drilled. You would need to secure the pistons so they wouldnt flop over and the glass slide off.
Mine already has the pistons and rods out. Only thing left in it is the cooked crank, timing chain n gears and t. chain cover and some "pieces" of the cam

You think so? I looked at that and my initial thought was "how are the piston heads set - and kept - perfectly parallel to the plane of the glass"?

But, picture the glass being layed down on the pistons - with the pistons floating on the pins. The weight of the glass will push down the high sides of the pistons and the low sides will rise up till they are flush with the glass. And that's where they will stay - until the glass is removed.

They might be, would make setting the glass on easier tho.

First gen Z28 Camaro engine advertised at 290 hp but was optioned with that sexy intake set up in the trunk. Trans Am series had a CID rule of 302 CID. Which spawned the DZ for Chevy the Boss 302 for Ford and I guess the 304 for AMC.

Yea advertised at 290 hp But in real life they put out 390 hp with the stock intake and 425 with the sexy intake and tuned twins on top . In 68 and 69 it was a 327 block with a 283 crank in 69 it was given its own crank and block and the DZ stamp in the block #.

I had heard those engines were screamers. Never seen hp figures until you posted those. I had also heard they were known for snapping cranks. Was that both versions, or 1 more than the other?

i think if the damage is that low on the cylinder wall it can be saved. But it would probably be cheaper/easier to just get a crate 350 than to rebuild irregardless?

So what is core value for a 350 block? $75?

All my used blocks are sitting in my garage, because i can't bear to part with them. Even though one is not practically rebuildable with a cracked cylinder wall....
