Since your not one of the guys who's entire automotive hobby is making the most obnoxious stereo possible you will probably enjoy that setup. The most ridiculous setup I ever saw was in my buddies single cab chevy truck, he turned it up all the way once while we were driving and it actually made it hard to breath and we could not see because our vision was just a blur. It was not a cool experience.

The funny part about all the stereo **** is these dudes that spend thousands on that years newest **** and within a year its outdated and on craigslist listing what the retail was and its now 1/4 of the price.

It all depends on the person and what they value most. Personally I'd do it of the tranny and tcase were extras and being sold anyway but that's just me

If he lived me I'd give him $200 for both. Thats a steal for package that has a rebuilt TH350 in it. The trany is worth $300-400 by itself.

I'd put in my gmt400. I cant touch a TH350 or TH400 core for less than $100 around here. Somewhere in PA(within 2 hour drive) was paying $75-100 for those in cores.

The only reason to step down to a Th350 is for durability. The 4L60-E and 4L80-E's are not junk. The earlier years do need some mods to make them have more strength and perform better but I still wouldn't consider them junk. What I'd consider a JUNK transmission is like a Turbo 200. They are weak and not even worth the time or money to even try to make it worthy when the Th350 is a direct bolt in swap. The Turbo 200 is the only GM trans that is junk IMO. THey are as disposable as a bic lighter.

DAVE are you fricken kiddin me? You evidently dont realize just what a 4L80E is then. Well let me remind you it was BUILT OFF OF THE TH400, alot of the same parts will interchange.

I am really getting tiried of you talking **** about stuff you OBVIOUSLY know NOTHING about.

Yea a 4L60E has problematic issues, BUT when PROPERLY rebuilt there is NOT A DAMN thing wrong with them.

Don't you have a Ford truck to work on? Or hell better yet go waste some more money on tool's that you will NEVER use.

I've even seen some folks go a couple hundred thousand miles on a 4L60e without even a rebuild. Granted those folks don't ever pull anything but that just shows where they're weak at but as OLP said and as hrpc has said there's nothing wrong with them at all after the proper rebuild.

welp seems the vote is kinda split on if its a good deal or not, I tend to agree that I may aswell get something other then scrap price for it so he is supposed to be coming around noon tommorow.

Actually I kind of excited I have never owned any kind of system before, I am axiouse to see what an amp and sub actually will do for the truck.
