A family member lost their 3 or 4 yr old when a car he was working on fell forward while running in gear and crushed the lil boy between the car and house. He never picked up a wrench again. Changed his whole lifestyle from working on cars for a living to home a/c work he wont even change his own oil or air filters or anything now.

no kidding and those of us that are dad's to young kids hits too close to home. Things like this is exactly why I make my kids stay far away from the car while I work on it. I can teach them what I'm doing later on but at this point I'm paranoid about this very thing happening :(

I had something along the lines of this happen to me once with the 5 ton cube truck we had for a wash truck with our polish shop I polished the rims and forgot to throw the airbrake back on before dropping it on the ground as soon as I dropped the front end she started rolling in towards the shop it was only a car length away defs a scary feeling luckily I had planned over and over in my head for this for not knowing if a coemployee threw the brakes back on or not on other trucks so I was quick to react I kick myself in the ass all the time cause I have a habit of putting safety second or third, now I always check brakes before dropping a truck on the ground kinda funny the one time it happens is when its my own responsibility.....

Somethings happen for a reason. In this instance, noone was hurt, no damage and after going the bathroom, wiping your ass and turning your underwear inside out to keep the skids away, I bet you learned. That's one of those situations I say, I couldn't even swallow cuz my balls were in my throat.
