I have a 78 k-20, I had it in 4x4 because of some sketchy weather, but now the hubs won’t unlock, I’ve tried the deal where you put it in park then roll forward a bit. Any other ideas to try?

Put it in reverse, roll it back and stomp the brake. Put it back in Park and they should unlock.

If they still don't unlock, it's possible the return springs in the physical hubs might be stuck.

I had this issue on my offroad truck's Dana 60. The passenger side got so full of mud and water it wouldn't unlock anymore

also old grease and time/wear could make it sticky because the lock to my remembering requires pushing a piece into the position to mesh to drive the wheel and the unlock allows it to slide out. im backwards, maybe... been a while

Also, since I'm assuming you are having some severe cold weather... if you haven't serviced the hubs in a while the grease and/or water in the hubs could be frozen. Try hitting the outside of the hub with a torch to warm it up a bit then whack it with a rubber mallet to see if it releases. Do you have manual or auto hubs?

Might be time to disassemble, clean, lube and reassemble the hubs. Grease mixed with dirt makes mud that is not very slippery.
