I have an original rust free damage free beautiful low mile good condition original black 1981 Silverado hood I want to sell soon on Craigslist. The foam on the inner side is still intact from the factory in 1981. Just one problem when dad accidentally scratched a couple 2 inch scrapes and the white undercoating is showing. How much should I price it for I was thinking $200.00? I’m putting a cowl induction hood from LMC on it anyways so I’m not too angry with him.

I'll give ya 200 if you throw in some punctuation. I hate to be that guy but, dam dude! You kids don't get taught right anymore. I blame your teachers and cell phone texts.

I'm a horrible speller but, know how to use a period or comma.

I’ll admit, I forgot certain spelling and punctuation after being hurt by my ex years ago. Being hurt really changes a guy.

Why get rid of it? If you are going to swap the hood out consider keeping the original parts. $200 won't get you much today and if you want to get rid of that cowl hood you don't have to buy and paint another one.

Ya, I’m mainly mad at my dad for the 2” scratch is why I’m selling it. As for original parts, it’s originally a 305 truck so I don’t see originality being if any value some day. I love the look of a cowl hood anyways. I guess I’m old school anyways I’m 37yo. Not that that’s very young.

Around here it would fetch 50-150 with or without the scratch.

Hang it up in your rafters in the garage . It won't take up any space. In 10-15 years when you get tired of the cowl hood, you'll have the original. If you sell it, you'll get peanuts now, and a good undamaged hood then will be impossible to find.

OBTW-37 is quite young, at least in my old eyes!

"Old School" at 37?? You're still a kid! I was 30 when your truck rolled off the assembly line!

Hey lady, cheer up!

Where I'm from, '81-up hoods don't have much value because they are so common. They are usually the only part that doesn't rust away, lol.
