Personally, I'd really like to try one. I think the '79 Camaro restomod project would be a great candidate.

I figured they ran out years ago, right before the Demon carb showed up. I think it's part of the Holley brand now though? I'm not sure, never owned one or even knew anybody that owned one.

I had a 79 Z28 i picked up in 94.
I had a 95 Z28, and a 87 Corvette.
I miss the 79 the most. It was just plain fun!!

I have an 850 Demon on my 454 and love it! Lots of tuneability and the drivability and throttle response is spot on.

They are pretty proud of those for sure.

For now I will stick with the 5 Holleys I have a total of $595 into.
3 are ready to go and the other 2 just need to have a rebuild kit put into them for the fresh gaskets.

Pricing is right in line with all the others with the same features and adjustability. I'm certainly not going to argue that it's not cheap though, lol.

Holley (MSD) has bought Quickfuel, Demon, and others. Edelbrock will soon be the only other. Holley is pushing their fuel injection, and I feel the way they are buying up the entire automotive aftermarket to own it. Soon, emissions requirement will outlaw carburetors for a good part. They will screw us eventually.
Personally, as a mechanic who maintains classics only, I never recommend fuel injection as the install costs for my shop to do it is about $3000- 4000 for a nice install done right. I can rebuild a carburetor and tune for about 400, and replace the carb with new for that same money, 400, or up to $8-900 for high end new stuff. All fuel injection gets you is an easy start for mow-rons and their own list of issues that have to be fixed with a PC.
In my shop we have fixed bad EFI, but not had any issues with the carbureted cars that left.

Plenty of Holleys and Carter/Edelbrock/Weber AFB sitting broken on shelves d/t unreliability. Now if Holley/ Edelbrock could come out w/ a new Quadrajet...it'd be newsworthy.
