Help with pressing on rotor hub assembly

Hello friends; it's been many years since I reinstalled the rotor assembly vack on spindle but I don't remember it being so difficult to seat all the way on the spindle. I just can't muscle it on there and then debating if I am missing something. Are my bearings the correct ones, see pic? I have a 86 k20. I shouldn't have to beat on it if memory serves. As usual, thanks

You can double check the bearing part numbers on any parts store site or Rockauto, etc. Of course, you need to make sure what axle you have, 10 bolt or D44 (should be a 10 bolt).

Sometimes the inner bearing can get cocked and stuck on the step on the spindle, you just have to “rinse and repeat”.

I was stupid and threw out original bearings before buying new so I'm hoping these are correct. However if I try to slide the bearing by itself Simonton the spindle it goes maybe 1/4" before it gets really tough and I can't move any further. These are bearings I git at lmc so maybe they have poor tolerances?

There should be part numbers on the new bearings, you can check them against the application.

Also make sure there aren’t any burs / rough areas on the spindle.

Doesn't take much if they won't go on. There is usually some wear to the spindle, provided numbers are correct use light emery cloth to buff it a little.

Did a very light emery and the bearing went on with "normal" resistance.
Next issue is the pads are super tight on passenger side after installing calipers. I checked that rotor is fully seated, and that the caliper w/ pads slid onto the rotor normally before rotor was installed on spindle. Is a slightly outta whack caliper mounting dust shield the cause? Is it appropriate to see if I can bend the mounting area?

Update, removed inner wheel bearing/race I got from lmc and replaced it with national brand. Provided the clearance needed and as well sounded smoother. Possible original bearing may not have been seated but I checked that half dozen times. I'll take it as a win as a win as now I can install my brake lines..
