Replaced electronic choke carb with manual choke Edelbrock 750. Butterfly closes all the way pulled out, opens all the way pushed in. Screws are 1 1/2 out. New Cap, rotor, wires, plugs, fuel filter, valve cover gaskets, fresh non ethanol gas. Triple checked firing order. Set harmonic balancer to 0, rotor points to #1 on TDC on compression stroke. I can get it to fire not idle. Try to keep it running giving gas dies and farts through carb. Tried advancing and retarding. Had lifter noice adjusted, but first time ever doing. STUMPED PLEASE HELP!

Why manual choke? Try to warm it giving throttle. Make sure the harmonic balancer isn’t off set (I know fords are known for it)

Have u tried keeping the distributor loose and playing with it while the truck is running?

When did you adjust the lifters? What was your procedure? Did the truck run okay before you changed the carbureator? Why did you change the carbureator. I ambwrongbevery single word of this, blind, because there is a big population for a grocery store covering my entire screen. I hope my post is readable. Okay now that the pop-up is gone. Corrections are Did the truck run okay before you changed the carbureator. I am writing every single word of this blind because there is a big pop up for a grocery store covering my entire screen.

^What @Ricko1966 said.
Was it running before and why you change all that? Not saying it’s wrong but will help figure out why it’s not running.
Also for future reference, when doing shadetree work, especially if replacing parts to fix an obvious issue, it’s best to do one thing at a time and check the result before moving on to the next, otherwise if it don’t work out, you have more options as to what went wrong or didn’t work, to diagnose.

Timing is 180 out.
Are you certain you were on the compression stroke?
Stop messing with lifter adjustment!
