I have restored my 91 k5, 5.7 tbi. Pretty much everything is new and it ran fine before the restoration.
My problem is that it cranks great, drives down the road great but when stopping at a light or just when sitting in Park it will die. Cranks right back up but will die again. It only gives a code every so often "42" I checked plug wires to make sure they weren't touching the harness, fuel pressure is good, pump and filter are new, cap rotor, all new.
I'm thinking the ECM now or a short. Temp sensor is also new, and I also unplugged the EGR and checked my grounds. Lol

code 42 is usually a bad ICM, or stray voltage somehow getting to the white (EST) or tan/black (bypass), or an open or short (sounds like an intermittent issue) in one of those 2 wires or at the ICM connector.
